Results
- Chassis captured from 3D scans and modelled in CAD
- Pipe and cable routes designed for performance and reliability
- Electric components integrated and the conversion completed
The brief
Develop a 3D CAD model and pipe layout to retrofit a diesel city bus with electric components.
The challenge
The existing chassis had to be captured accurately, the new electric systems had to fit in the space available, and pipe and cable routes had to be planned for performance and reliability.
What we did
We reverse engineered the chassis from 3D scans and built a precise CAD model. We then designed the pipe and cable layouts and worked with the client to finalise the structural modifications.
The result
The CAD model let the client integrate the electric components accurately, and the conversion was completed successfully.
