How we work
Every model, drawing and report we make is set up for what happens next, whether that is analysis, a supplier’s quote or a production run. Clear, honest communication throughout means you always know where your project stands.
More than 100 clients have worked with us since 2010, from individual parts to whole products.
Confidentiality and ownership
Everything you share with us is treated in confidence. We send our own mutual NDA, and it is in place before any drawings, models or specifications change hands. There is no need to send files with an enquiry.
The design, drawings and CAD we produce for your product become yours once the work is paid for. We keep only our own general methods and know-how, which carry over from project to project.

Ryan Ferguson
Founder and Managing DirectorFounded F-CAD® in 2010. His background is in design for manufacture, with companies in construction equipment, precision plastics for subsea, offshore and defence, interior design, and food and drink.
Marie Browning
Chief of OperationsKeeps the business running smoothly, with administration, compliance and people matters handled efficiently and consistently.
John Fuller
VP EngineeringHas built global businesses through teamwork and deliverable plans. His engineering and leadership experience spans automotive, shipbuilding, drinks, construction equipment, medical devices, mid-infrared spectroscopy and laser gas sensing.
Alan Clark
Business DevelopmentJoined F-CAD® after running his own business for many years, and brings practical experience of growth, sales and engineering.
Eddie Shearman
Mechanical EngineerMaster’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, with a dissertation on the forces on human vertebrae using finite element analysis.
Seòras Cuthbert
Design EngineerMaster’s in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, after a bachelor’s at the University of Dundee. His master’s project was a rehabilitation game for chronic post-stroke patients.
