The brief
Run CFD simulations to optimise the design, piping and layout of a lazy river at a large water park.
The challenge
The flow velocity had to stay even around the whole circuit, water pressure and pump placement had to be balanced for energy efficiency, and areas of stagnant or turbulent water had to be kept to a minimum.
What we did
We simulated the water flow with CFD and adjusted the pipe and pump layout for even circulation. The design changes reduced energy use and kept the water moving consistently for visitors.
The result
Efficient water flow, lower pump energy and improved safety: a lazy river that met both the operator’s goals and its visitors’ expectations.
