3D CAD modelling
Parametric parts and assemblies, set up for what comes next: analysis, drawings or the machine shop.
- You send
- Sketches, a specification, 2D drawings, scan data or an existing model to improve
- You get back
- Parametric models in Inventor, SolidWorks or STEP, 2D drawings and PDFs, assembly documentation and exploded views
Built to be changed
Key dimensions, features and relationships are controlled parametrically, with a clear feature tree and consistent naming, so design changes, variants and manufacturing updates go in quickly and predictably.
Modelled with manufacture in mind
Our engineers understand the materials, processes and tolerances behind each feature, so the model reflects how the part will actually be made, whether that is by machining, fabrication, moulding or printing.
Checked before release
Models and assemblies are checked for dimensional integrity, interference and manufacturability. Drawings follow BS and ISO standards, with GD&T, surface finishes and parts lists where they are needed.
What we model
- New products and components
- Structural frames and fabrications
- Mechanisms, tooling and jigs
- Industrial equipment and process layouts
- Existing models that need simplifying or improving
Questions we are often asked
How detailed will the model be?
As detailed as the job needs, from a simplified concept model to a fully detailed, production-ready assembly.
Can you model from 2D drawings or scans?
Yes. We create 3D models from 2D drawings, scan data or sketches, linking directly with our paper to CAD and reverse engineering work.
Which CAD software do you use?
Mainly Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. We can also supply STEP, IGES or Parasolid to suit whatever system you use.
Can the models be used for simulation and rendering?
Yes. Our models are structured for direct use in FEA, CFD and photorealistic rendering.
